Best Singapore memories to feature on Ayam Brand sardine cans to mark jubilee year

Ayam BrandAyam Brand has teamed up with Singapore armed forces group SAFRA to launch a series of new designs for its sardine cans to mark Singapore’s fiftieth year since independence.

The designs were sourced via a competition among students and the public to come up with their favourite memories of the island nation.

The design contest was organised in partnership with Little Magazine, Raffles Design Institute and SAFRA. The brief was to produce designs with two themes in mind, “My Singapore memory” or “Creating memories – Singapore National Service”.

The contest was open to schools and the public, and attracted around 700 entries.

The new designs will be launched in February next year.

“We were so overwhelmed by the 700 over entries that came in and had a hard time choosing the winners,” said Roy Teo, MD of Ayam Brand Singapore. “There was a wide variety of designs, from participants young and old. Some were illustrations of Singapore’s skyline, while others created a collage Singapore’s identity over the years.”
