Y&R China president and creative chief Nils Andersson to leave after five years
Nils Andersson, the president and chief creative officer at Y&R china, is leaving the agency after almost five and a half years with the company.
Andersson was appointed president of Y&R China four months ago, taking on additional management duties to his role running the creative department.
He was one of the architect’s of Y&R Beijing’s print ad series for Penguin Audibooks, which won top honours at AdFest.
According to Campaignbrief, Andersson is moving to TBWA China as president and chief creative officer.
“We thank Nils for his overall guidance of the Y&R China creative teams,” Y&R Asia Chief Creative Officer Marcus Rebeschini said in a press statement. “He has truly helped them to deliver on his avowed intent to be world-class in China and we wish him all the best for the future.”
To replace him, Kien Hoe has been appointed ECD of Y&R Shanghai, and Annie Boo as the agency’s MD.
Boo returns to the agency she left three years ago after stints at BBDO and, latterly, JWT.
Matthew Godfrey, president Y&R Asia said: “Y&R China has consistently proved its creative might and Kien has played an integral part in Shanghai’s contribution to the agency’s achievements. We warmly welcome Annie Boo back to Y&R as managing director in Shanghai, and we are confident that together they will lead the team to continued success.”
Sounds like a fair deal…they used him to win awards by any means (penguin audio books LOL). He used them (and penguin audio books) to move to a higher rung with more money.
Does creativity gain anything? Do clients? Nope.
