Cambodia agency Champagne creates TOTAL ad for three markets

Champagne Communications has created an ad for oil giant TOTAL that is to run in two other markets besides its home territory – a first for a Cambodian agency.

The 45-second ad for TOTAL Excellium is to run in Cambodia, Fiji and New Caledonia, and is the first ad Champagne has created for TOTAL Cambodge since winning its media and promotion business at the start of the year.

The idea behind the ad was to portray cars that could choose their own fuel.

“As a young disruptive agency, we are always up for a challenge. So when we were briefed for this project, it got our engines running so to speak,” Champagne MD Dannith Oung said.

“However, the key was to find an insight that could resonate within all these three markets. Some people buy premium fuel from time to time because they understand it’s better for their car but they don’t really know why and the exact benefits. Some drivers still doubt that a premium fuel helps save fuel and reduce consumption. Our task was to convince new buyers and increase purchase frequency of occasional premium fuel customers through arguments that are convincing, rational and compelling.”
