AirAsia hires Starcom for APAC search business

AirAsiaAirAsia has appointed media agency Starcom to handle is search marketing business in a number of markets across the region, including China, Japan, India, Australia, Singapore and Indonesia.

The announcement:

Asia Pacific, 30 November 2015 – Starcom Mediavest Group’s (SMG) Malaysia office, together with India’s SMG Convonix has won AirAsia Berhad’s search marketing business across 16 markets in Asia Pacific.

The markets include: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brunei and India. The win comes after a multi-agency pitch.

“We are pleased to appoint SMG as our Global Search Agency and look forward to embark on a great partnership. The selection was based on strong technical and process skills and SMG’s capability to understand our nature of business in great depth,” said Spencer Lee, AirAsia’s Head of Commercial.
