Branded stickers Cartoon NetworkCartoon Network has launched a series of branded stickers for use in social media from three of its shows, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls.

The announcement:

HONG KONG (November 3, 2015) – Cartoon Network, Asia Pacific’s leading kids’ brand, has unleashed some of its most popular characters within the social messaging arena, with the launch of a range of branded stickers on the free call and messaging app LINE.

Characters from the three hit comedy animations Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls are now available for download in 10 markets in Asia: Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and India. There are Chinese, Japanese and English versions.

Speaking about this Japan-initiated measure, Phil Nelson, Managing Director of Turner International in North Asia, commented, “To see Cartoon Network’s most iconic characters exist and flourish in a dynamic, multi-platform space is incredible. LINE is an app that reaches millions of users right around the Asia region and fans of our franchises will love being able to engage with them in a whole new way”.

Cartoon Network has worked with LINE to produce stickers before. In fact, it was in response to the overwhelming response to The Powerpuff Girls in 2013, and then Adventure Time in 2014, which prompted the development of this new selection. The stickers have also received an upgrade with some of them equipped with animated features. In Japan, the Adventure Timerange also features audio by the show’s on-air voice-actors.

The products are downloadable from the Sticker Shop within the LINE app, which is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices and the App Store for Apple devices. LINE stickers are generally shared during chat sessions between users and act as large sized emoji to enhance the messaging experience and convey more dynamic, virtual emotions.
