Don Anderson leaves We Are Social and steps down as ACMA chair, Andrea Edwards named executive director

Don AndersonAndrea EdwardsDon Anderson is moving on from We Are Social where he has been regional managing director since August last year, and is stepping down from his position as chairman of the Asia Content Marketing Association.

Anderson joined We Are Social from PR agency Fleishman-Hillard as Singapore MD in May 2014, and moved into the regional role eight months ago.

He took on the ACMA chairmanship in 2014.

In an email to ACMA members, Anderson wrote: “For the association to continue to evolve, I believe it is best that I step aside and allow another ‘voice’/‘champion’ take it from here. It’s closing in on two years since I took up the role, and we’ve seen great advancement in the past year thanks to your contributions and ceaseless energies.”

The chairman position is to remain vacant for the time during the search for a replacement.

The content industry body has named Andrea Edwards, director of content marketing and training at Novus Asia, as executive director, a role she will begin on 1 April.

Anderson wrote: “Andrea has without question demonstrated time and again her unyielding commitment to the ACMA vision and mandate, and her passion for all things content marketing related is unmatched. Her efforts alongside Henry [Adams, founder of Contented] and Melissa [de Villiers of The Editor Group] in establishing the ACMA website as the region’s go-to platform and pillar for industry knowledge is demonstrated proof of her ability to get things done. And then some.”

Anderson revealed he was leaving We Are Social in a post on LinkedIn titled ‘What a (social) journey it’s been’ yesterday.
