Ad agency bullshit in a single click
An email dropped in Dr Mumbo’s box this afternoon that might just be the silver bullet that ad agencies in Asia struggling to position themselves in a crowded market have been waiting for.
“Need help with your press release? We will provide your unimaginative agency with some ideas,” the subject heading of the email reads.
“Need help with jargons [sic] that don’t mean anything?” begins the email, before introducing the website PressReleaseBullshit.com, which was pieced together from agency press releases collected over time from trade publications.
Simply type in your agency name, and a client’s name, and with a single click you have will have a press release that isn’t a whole lot worse than the stuff being put out by agencies on a regular basis.
Here are some examples of what the site, produced by art director Sanroye Yao and interactive designer Faris Kassim, throws up.
