Amobee hires Millennial Media boss Robert Woolfrey as Asia SVP
Amobee, Singtel’s mobile advertising arm, has hired Robert Woolfrey, the Asia boss of rival Millennial Media, Mumbrella can reveal.
Woolfrey moves on after just under five years with the company acquired by AOL last year to take on the role as Amobee’s senior vice president for the Asia region.
Amobee confirmed the move but declined to comment further. The search is underway for a replacement for Woolfrey at Millennial Media.
The news emerges the week after Singtel reported strong fourth quarter results driven by the company’s digital assets, with Amobee largely responsible for a 136% lift in revenue from that side of the business.
Amobee’s revenue was up 190%, generating $114m of the $126m in revenue from Singtel’s digital marketing arsenal.
Before joining Millennial Media, Woolfrey ran sales for the Southeast Asia region for InMobi. He has also worked in senior sales and managerial roles for Zad Mobile and Consilient.
Woolfrey, who set up Millennial Media’s operations in Southeast Asia in 2011, was promoted to lead APAC as regional MD in February 2014.
