Singapore Press Holdings’ magazine arm has appointed Geoff Tan, a 30-year company veteran, as managing director for luxury and custom publishing.

He takes on the role from 1 July after a long stint running SPH’s marketing function, and replaces Dennis Pua, who is moving on from the publisher after close to 20 years of service.

Tan will run luxury brands The Peak and ICON, and oversee SPH’s custom titles, which include Singapore Airlines loyalty magazine SilverKris.

Over his career with the company, Tan helped launch daily tabloid The New Paper, he led ad sales of newspapers across a number of industry sectors and also led the strategy arm of SPH’s digital business.

SPH Magazine CEO Loh Yew Seng thanked Phua for his contribution to the business, noting: “During Dennis’ watch, The Peak and Icon grew their respective brand extensions with The Peak Selections Gourmet and Travel, The Peak Selections Timepieces, Icon Moments and Icon Weddings. I would like to thank Dennis for his many years of service and contributions and wish him all the best in his new endeavour.”

On Tan, he commented: “Geoff brings with him both breadth and depth of media advertising and marketing across multi platforms which would augur well for the magazines business. I look forward to his contributions to SPH Magazines.”
