IAB Singapore expands new-look board and streamlines number of committees

iabThe Interactive Advertising Bureau Singapore has expanded its number of board members from eight to 14 and reduced its number of committees in a new-look structure.

IAB Singapore chief executive and ambassador to Southeast Asia, Miranda Dimopoulos, said the expansion reflects the “growth of our membership and initiatives complementing the growth of the industry”.

New board members include Mindshare chief digital officer, APAC, Sanchit Sanga, Facebook global brand manager Roxanne Somboonsiri, LinkedIn Head of Enterprise, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, Andrew Calin, Dentsu Aegies Network marketing and communications director Laura Green-Wilkinson and Xasis Singapore managing director Regan Baillie.

“Southeast Asia is a wonderfully diverse region increasingly driven by digital and the insights and contribution from our Board will be vital in raising the industry bar even higher,” Dimopoulos said.

IAB Singapore chairman Tobias Wilson added: “It’s no longer a question of whether or not there is a need for an industry body like IAB Singapore.

“Now is the time for action, with brilliant industry leaders stepping up to shift the needle even further towards digital.”

Those no longer sitting on the board include Sonal Patel, Alex Khan, Kieth Timimi, John Kerr and Olivier Legrand. Some of these members decided not to stand again.

Meanwhile, the number of committees has been reduced from seven to four.

Previously separate mobile and social committees have been combined, as has content and video, while measurement standards and data have also been merged into one.

A new programmatic committee has been established to reflect its rising importance.

“The idea behind collapsing the number of committees, is to do more with less, and enable us to be more agile and proactive in addressing emerging trends and knowledge gaps in digital,” said Dimopoulos.

“I am confident that these passionate practitioners who have put their hands up, will be making an impact on pressing issues facing the industry today.”
