GOVT Kuala Lumpur wins creative account for Australian finance firm

Independent agency GOVT Kuala Lumpur has won the creative account for Australian financial investment firm Future Asset Management International following a three-way pitch.

The year-long contract is worth S$215,000 and will include brand-building campaigns and on-the-ground activations. The agency is currently revamping FAMI’s website and will release a new campaign in May.

GOVT is understood to have competed with two Australian agencies for the account. FAMI’s group marketing manager Yass Benjamin said: “We’ve met GOVT a few times and have talked over the brand direction at length. We’re just glad that they got it right the first time and really understand what we’re all about ahead of the brief.”

Three additional people will be hired to service the FAMI account, including two account managers and an art director, bringing the KL office’s headcount up to 24.

GOVT was originally founded in Singapore by managing director Leon Lai, Aaron Koh and Casey Loh in December 2012. The three of them went on to found the KL office along with Syed Nasir in 2014.

The agency won the creative account for one of Singapore’s largest banks, OCBC, in September last year. A number of senior hires have recently joined the Outram Road office to service the account.
