PHD China wins Huawei China media account

PHD China has won the media account for electronics giant Huawei following a four-way pitch.

The announcement:

The scope of work covers media strategy and buying for all traditional media channels, while the business will be served out of PHD’s growing Beijing office. This success follows a string of new business wins for PHD in 2016, which led to the agency being ranked ‘Highest Growth Agency in China’ and ‘2nd in Vitality and Momentum’ in industry evaluator RECMA’s 2016 report.

Huawei is one of the world’s leading information and telecommunications technology companies, headquartered in Shenzhen with an ever-expanding global presence.

“We are thrilled to take on this new assignment with one of the best international companies to have ever originated in China. PHD has worked hard over the course of the past year to build on the recent success of retaining the Unilever business and winning the global VW account, and this announcement is credit to the passion and dedication of our agency team,” said Aaron Wild, chief executive officer of PHD China.

Susana Tsui, chief executive officer of PHD APAC, added:“We are excited to kick start the year of the Rooster with a big win in China. Huawei has been a client that we have targeted to work with for some time for its leading reputation and vision in innovation. Our PHD challenger brand personality perfectly fits with Huawei’s ambition in and outside of China. We look forward to doing some spectacular work together.”
