BBDO Worldwide cleans up at the 2017 APAC Effie Awards
Australia’s Clemenger BBDO was named Agency of the Year at the Asia-Pacific region’s most Effie Awards last night. The Omnicom-owned agency won 12 awards in total at the ceremony attended by 200 people at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore.
BBDO Worldwide was also awarded the Network of the Year gong as the agencies Clemenger, and New Zealand’s Colenso BBDO took home the lion’s share of gold awards. Colenso’s ‘Brewtroleum’ for Kiwi beer-maker DB Breweries won the Grand Effie prize – the equivalent of a Grand Prix. Colenso BBDO won the most gongs in total, while the network’s agencies in India and China also took home one gold each.
Following behind Colenso BBDO in terms of award numbers was y Ogilvy & Mather and the MullenLowe Group, coming in the second and third position respectively. Australia emerged as the strongest market in the region with the highest number of award winners. Following behind in the rankings were India and New Zealand.
Awards chairman Anthony Wong said: “At the Effies, we recognise in particular great ideas that work in tomorrow’s world. Work that has achieved exceptional results by having effective media strategies that augment the brilliant ideas. Work that leads the transformation of business and communication. Work that shines the light on the next chapter of how content and technology collide to make brands matter more than ever.”
Clems rocks…period. No other agency to rival them for creative consistency.
On a separate note, isn’t it funny that ddb singapore isn’t sweeping the effies as usual?
