Dentsu Aegis replaces South Korea CEO in fourth regional leadership shift in two months
Dentsu Aegis Network has replaced its fourth Asia Pacific chief executive officer in just two months, with a leadership changeover in South Korean.
The holding company has promoted the South Korea operation’s chief strategy officer Woohyun Nam to the role of CEO as his predecessor Yoshihiro Nagai moves back to Dentsu Inc. in Japan.
Nam joined the group in 2006 as communications planning director for Carat Korea, and in just under two years, was recognised as one of the rising leaders. He was subsequently promoted to general manager. During his career journey within the company, Woohyun was appointed CEO of various network brands including Carat, Vizeum and Isobar.
Meanwhile, Nagai had held the CEO role for nearly two years. Dentsu Aegis has not revealed Nagai’s new role as of yet.
Just last week, the group’s Indonesia leadership changed hands with the chief operating officer SK Biswas taking over the role from industry veteran Harris Thajeb, who was appointed non-executive chairman.
Meanwhile back in February it was the Philippines as Donald Lim was announced as the replacement for Angelito Pangilinan, who was made non-executive chairman. A week later, the group appointed Jennifer Tang as the CEO for Taiwan. In that instance, the predecessor Isao Miyauchi was redeployed to an unspecified role in Japan.
Dentsu Aegis said the changeovers were due to natural “succession planning”.
