Ex-JWT digital director Joseph Chua joins Resn

Digital agency Resn has appointed Joseph Chua as its chief operating officer for Asia as the company prepares to open a regional hub in Shanghai next month.

Chua joins the Wellington-founded agency from J. Walter Thompson, where he was the director of digital for Hong Kong and Singapore.

Prior to joining JWT in 2014, Chua was at Leo Burnett and has worked on campaigns for advertisers such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Huawei and Bayer during his 10-year advertising career.

In his new role, Chua will be based at Resn’s office in Shenzen, one of three in China, including Beijing and the HQ in Shanghai.  A further base in Singapore will complete the Asia hub, which officially opens in June.

He will report to Ted Meng, the recently appointed chief executive officer Resn Asia. Meng said: “Jo brings with him an extensive knowledge of the digital terrain in China and Asia Pacific. His experience will be a valuable asset to the organisation.”

Resn Global’s CEO Rik Campbell said: “We have consulted expert astrologers to forecast Resn’s propitious future. They all agreed that this year – 2017, the year of the Fire Cock will be Resn’s best chance for success.”

Alongside Wellington and Asia, Resn also has offices in San Francisco and Amsterdam.
