Zen and the art of newsreading
Dr Mumbo loves a good broadcasting disaster.
So yesterday morning (Asia time)’s opening of the flagship BBC News at Ten was a thing of joy.
Millions of viewers had the ultimate zen moment of nearly four minutes of watching the newscaster Huw Edwards contemplate the world.
Dr Mumbo’s favourite moment in the edge-of-the-seat action came just before the three-minute mark when the presenter demonstrated that he has a mouse for his left hand and another mouse for his right hand.
It later emerged that the newsreader was well aware that he was on air. Moments before going live, a key system had crashed, and Edwards was forced to sit it out until the technology had caught up.
Hilarious…My god, the UK must have thought the world was ending, a nuclear strike was minutes away or the Queen had died (code word is “London Bridge is down” by the way)
