Lewis PR hires ex-Red Bull brand boss as Emma Jenkins is promoted to APAC VP

Eric Thain

Communications agency Lewis PR has hired the former Red Bull brand chief for China to lead its Shanghai office.

Eric Thain served as head of brand and digital communication for the global beverage giant between 2014 and 2015, before forming his own content company e&r Consulting.

According to the agency, Thain’s appointment is “designed to accelerate growth in China, as well as further develop the global agency’s digital and integrated marketing communications business in the region”.

Meanwhile, from August 1, Hong Kong managing director Emma Jenkins will take on the role as regional vice president based in the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.

In the newly-created position, Jenkins will spearhead Lewis’ accounts across Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. Both leaders will report to Scott Pettet, the APAC region senior vice president.

“As the Lewis business continues to grow and evolve in APAC, it’s vital that our management structure does too,” said Pettet. “Emma is a long-serving member of the LEWIS team and highly regarded in the industry. I’m looking forward to her having more of an impact across the region.”

“Eric Thain brings big brand experience in China in areas such as content, and digital marketing, disciplines that our clients are wanting us to take a lead role in. With Eric at the helm, we will build out our Shanghai office as a centre of excellence in China for the development and delivery of cutting-edge digital and integrated communications campaigns.”

In addition, Fairil Yeo has been promoted from regional head of client engagement and digital to managing director for Singapore.
