M&C Saatchi boosts creative and digital teams with senior hires

M&C Saatchi Malaysia has made three new senior appointments to its creative and digital divisions.

The agency has hired Ellyse Ng as its new head of social media. She previously held similar roles at APD Kuala Lumpur and Geometry Global KL, and has worked on brands including Proton, Fonterra, F&N, Kimberley-Clark, Tiger Beer, and Nivea.

She has also led social media for AirAsia across 14 regional markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Ng is joined by Gabi Espaldon, who has been appointed as creative group head, having worked as a freelanceer for the past two years. She has previously worked for agencies including Lowe Bangkok and Ogilvy Manila, serving global brands including Nike, McDonald’s, KFC, Pond’s.

Meanwhile, the agency has also hired Tio Tit Seng as digital creative director. Prior to joining M&C Saatchi, Seng also worked at Geometry Global KL where he led a team of 10 creatives on accounts such as Audi and CIMB.

Starting his advertising career as an art director, Tio has worked with Mandate Singapore, Grey Group and Ambrosia Communications. He returned to Malaysia in 2011 to join Grey Group where he helped win accounts such as Resorts World Genting, Nissan, and Touch N’ Go, the agency said in a statement.

He said: “Digital will be playing the leading roles in shaping the brands, and with the helps of data, personalisation will be the key to engage with our audience at the right time, right behaviour.”

All the appointments are effective immediately.
