ABC logoCCTV logoChina and Australia’s biggest public broadcasting stations have begun production on a children’s TV show.

CCTV, or China Central Television, and Australia’s public broadcaster ABC, have started filming on Hoopla Doopla! with a cast and production team from both countries – including an Australian and a Chinese director.

The 52 x 12-minute non-verbal comedy series for preschoolers was three years in the making. The scripts were written in Australia, the shoot is being carried out in a studio in China, and the post production will be done in Australia.

It was created by Melinda Wearne, and will be produced by Beyond Screen Production and the China Television Drama Production Centre.
