The top marketer from one of Singapore’s most powerful brands is stepping down.

Vernon Vasu, director of corporate marketing and communications at the Health Promotion Board, is leaving after almost three and a half years with the government body.

His next move is unclear, but new of his departure comes during a busy period for HPB, which is reviewing its creative, media and PR agency rosters.

Vasu, who is the former managing director of ad agency Batey in Malaysia, joined HPB in 2010.

In a varied career, he started out as a writer on The Food Paper before joining government tech department Infocomm Development Board. He has also worked at Lucidity and MDK Consultants.

News of his departure was reported by Marketing today.
