China Unicom hires JWT for brand strategy

China UnicomIn a major win for the agency, JWT has landed the brand strategy account of China Unicom, the second largest mobile telecom firm in China.

The win for the WPP-owned creative agency marks a reunion with the advertiser, which worked with JWT between 2006 and 2008.

JWT’s Beijing office won China Unicom’s brand management services business in May after a competitive pitch, building on its status as one of the brand’s project agencies.

Tammy Sheu, MD of JWT Beijing said: “We are thrilled that China Unicom chose JWT Beijing to be the long term cooperation partner for its brand development, after working together on significant programme last year.”

“We will work closely with client to build a strong, new generation brand in the mobile Internet space,” Sheu said.
