TBWA Hakuhodo Tokyo picks up three PR Lions nominations

SoilJapanese advertising and public relations firm TBWA Hakuhodo Tokyo has been shortlisted in three categories at the Cannes PR Lions.

Two of the nominations are for a campaign for Protoleaf, a Japanese gardening soil brand, which wanted to address concerns about nuclear radiation from the Fukushima accident. TBWA Hakuhodo helped Protleaf open “The Soil Restaurant” with a Michelin 3-star chef who was tasked with creating a full course meal using Protoleaf Soil as the main ingredient.

TBWA Hakuhodo’s The Soil Restaurant campaign was shortlisted in the categories of best launch and best integrated campaign lead by PR.

It received a third nomination in automotive category for its Voice Driver campaign for Nissan.

Indian agencies also did well in the PR Lions with Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai picking up two nominations: one for Classroom Mumbai a charity project for The Akanksha Foundation and Lifebuoy Roti a campaign created for Hindustan Unilever.

BBDO India Mumbai also received a nomination in the best integrated campaign category for Shave or Crave campaign for P&G India, while Publicis Gurgaon received a nomination for the Adopt a Pothole campaign for Apollo Tyres.

Shanghai agency Ketchum Shanghai was the only mainland China agency to be shortlisted for a PR Lion with the Welcoming Chinese Around the World created for Hilton Hotels being nominated in the travel and hospitality category.

DDB Group Hong Kong also got a nod in the retail category for the I’m Amazing campaign it created for McDonalds.

Ogilvy Mather Bangkok was shortlisted for the widely lauded ‘Smoking Kid’ campaign which was created for the Thai Health Promotion Foundation. The campaign which went viral with more than two million views received a nomination in the public sector category.

Rounding out the nominations BBH Asia Pacific Singapore received a nomination in the consumer good category for its National Night campaign for Perfect Ti Van Melle, Y&R Philippines was nominated in the corporate responsibility category for the Dengue Bottle campaign created for the Manila Water Service. Cheil Worldwide Seoul received a financial services nomination for the Bridge of Life campaign created for Samsung insurance.

The winners of the PR Lions will be announced early tomorrow morning Asia Pacific time.
