Zenith Optimedia’s UK boss takes APAC top job

Zenith's new Asia boss Gerry Boyle

Gerry Boyle, the worldwide managing partner and UK chairman of Zenith Optimedia UK, has emerged as the man to replace long-serving APAC CEO Phil Talbot, who is leaving the agency after nine years at the helm.

Another Zenith loyalist who has worked for the media agency for 14 years, Boyle moves from London to APAC headquarters in Singapore in August.

Boyle, 42, stepped aside as UK CEO late last year. His move east comes less than a year after Stephen Farquhar vacated the Zenith UK MD role to run the agency’s China operation.

Zenith’s global boss Steve King said in a statement: “APAC is the most dynamic, exciting and challenging region and it is critical we have the right leadership to help the network and our clients succeed.

“Gerry has unrivalled talent and experience of driving effective product and strategic change, and I am certain that our business in APAC will see the benefit of Gerry’s leadership skills,” he said.

It is unclear whether Boyle will relinquish his global managing partner role when he takes the APAC job.

Campaign’s UK edition was the first to report the news on Friday.
