Advertising agency TBWA has installed a new leadership team in Vietnam, as managing director George Nguyen moves to TBWA\Toronto.

Tom Guerin joins the agency as the new MD. The American was formerly in business education at the Vietnam USA Society. He teams up with new chief creative officer Stephen Ward, an Australian who was previously European ECD for Korean agency Innocean.

Ha Phan Bich, TBWA\Vietnam’s chairwoman said in a press release: “I couldn’t think of a better combination of skill and experience to lead us through our next stages of growth.”

Prior to his post at the Vietnam USA Society, Guerin was managing partner at Arnold Worldwide in the US and MD of Lowe in New York before that. He takes the reigns of an agency with around 200 staff.

Ward, who was formerly ECD on Nokia for Grey New York, the European ECD of McCann and spent a stint out of the industry as a screenwriter and director, replaces Patrick Tom, who has moved to Shanghai to run TBWA’s creative department there.

Also joining the new team is Lien Dinh as creative director, whose credentials include campaigns for Vinamilk and Vietnamobile. He was formerly at TBWA’s Omnicom sibling DDB, and before that, Lowe and Ogilvy.
