CASBAA re-hires Bite

Marketing agency Bite has been hired by pay-TV body CASBAA to promote its major event, the CASBAA Convention.

The announcement:

Hong Kong, 21 August 2013 – Bite has been appointed by CASBAA, the Asia-Pacific’s premier multichannel TV industry association, to support its flagship event – CASBAA Convention 2013 — for the fourth consecutive year. The Convention, taking place from 21-24 October 2013 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, will see Bite leveraging its strengths in using real time insights and on and offline communications to promote the event’s growing importance in the vibrant multichannel pay television industry.

“The CASBAA Convention is the biggest event in the industry which brings together members from the digital multichannel TV, content, platforms, advertising and video delivery across Asia-Pacific and from around the world,” said Christopher Slaughter, CEO of CASBAA.  “We are confident that Bite will be a great resource to help us achieve our goal to be the authoritative voice for multichannel TV, promoting industry regulation, IP protection and revenue growth for subscriptions and advertising.”

The communications theme for CASBAA Convention 2013 is “Change is On the Air” and Bite’s “Point of View” content marketing approach will highlight and generate discussion around the dynamics of the industry. Bite’s reappointment for the fourth year builds on its past success in promoting the Convention and providing communications counsel, from messaging, to content development, publicity, and event support.

“In today’s always-on world, players in the TV industry must find and engage with viewers across multiple channels in real time. We are truly excited to be working with CASBAA again this year in this dynamic and ever-changing ideas marketplace, said David Ketchum, President, Bite Asia Pacific. “Our communications approach for the Convention is designed to help industry leaders join forces to explore ideas and generate business.”

Previously, the CASBAA/Bite partnership won the “Double Happiness Award 2013 for Best Private Sector PR team,” awarded by The Council of Public Relations Firms of Hong Kong to recognize successful client/agency collaboration.

The reappointment reflects Bite’s continued momentum. Recently named Asia Pacific Technology Consultancy of the Year by The Holmes Report, and Mid-Size Network of the Year by PR Week/Campaign Asia, Bite’s current clients in Hong Kong include leading names in retail, technology, finance and travel, such as Coach, FedEx, NTT Communications, Peroni, Sony Professional and SWIFT.
