This year’s Festival of Branded Content and Entertainment is to be extended with an opening night of networking to precede the conference and awards.

The draft program for October’s event – organised by Mumbrella Asia’s parent company Focal Attractions – has now been released.

The networking night takes on 2 October, with the conference and awards following on 3 October.

The program will include workshops, panel discussions and presentations, as well as a mini gameshow which quizzes a panel of experts and the audience on whether they can tell the difference between native and non-native, branded and non-branded content.

The event takes place at Luna Park in Sydney, Australia.

This year’s Festival will address commonly-faced challenges in creating brand-funded content, from understanding ROI and measuring the effectiveness of content, to selecting the format, understanding content production partnerships and budgets, and the role of paid, earned and owned media in connecting content with its intended audience.

The Festival of Branded Entertainment ran for the first time last year and has this year been extended to include all forms of branded content.

The event is part of the BE Association, a membership organisation for everyone in the business of creating branded content and branded entertainment.

The conference will also include a formal networking forum which will enable marketers, content creators and agencies to make appointments to speed network with one another. The system is based on the networking format used at international TV and film markets such as MIPCOM and Cannes, and will enable marketers to connect with creatives and producers they would be otherwise unlikely to meet, as well as allowing agencies to develop new partnerships and business opportunities.

BE Festival is aimed at marketers with an interest at commissioning branded content and entertainment, media owners, producers and creatives wishing to work with brands, and agencies wishing to build their capabilities in content co-creation.

The day-long event also includes screenings and displays of the best branded content from the APAC region and around the world.

Early bird tickets to the Festival are on sale now.

The Festival concludes with the Branded Entertainment Awards, which recognise the most exceptional work from the Asia Pacific region. It is to take place at Sydney’s Luna Park and will be followed by the BE Awards.

The  closing date for BE Award submissions is this Monday 26th August.
