Joe Zandstra leaves Iris after less than a year

Joe ZandstraThe regional head of digital at marketing agency Iris Worldwide has left after less than a year in the job, it has emerged.

Joe Zandstra joined Iris as Asia Pacific digital director in October 2012, but is no longer with the agency, an Iris source told Mumbrella earlier today.

It is unclear where he has moved to, and Iris had not commented on whether they have a replacement lined up at the time of writing.

Zandstra joined Iris as a replacement for regional digital director David Brown, who joined R/GA last October.

He spent more than two years at New York-based digital customer experience agency Magnani Caruso Dutton before joining Iris.

Before that, he had a five-year stint in Singapore as creative director at XM Asia Pacific and three and a half years at Qais Consulting, now known as VML Qais.

The news of his departure comes the week after rumours emerged of high staff churn at Iris, with two sources suggesting that most of the creative department had left at once – which Iris denies.

Other senior departures from the Singapore office in recent months include Sonal Narain, who joined Iris from Ogilvy in August 2012 only to leave five months later, and creative director Subha Naidu who left to work in New York.
