Smart Axiata appoints Cream in Cambodia

New IndoChinese ad agency Cream has reported winning the creative account of mobile service provider Smart Axiata after a competitive pitch.

The announcement:

August 19 – PHNOM PENH – CREAM Communications Group has won creative duties on Smart Axiata after a competitive pitch including incumbent River Orchid.

Advertising Agency Cream, which launched six months ago, is tasked to develop a new multimedia brand campaign for the mobile service provider Smart.

With 5 million subscribers in Cambodia, Smart is the new brand formed from the merger of Smart Latelz and Hello Axiata. Smart’s holding company, the Malaysia based Axiata Group, has over 215 million subscribers in South-East Asia.

Brenden Arnold, CEO of CREAM Cambodia, said “Smart’s a sensational win – we know the market and the category very well — we’re thrilled to be given the opportunity to engage the ideas we presented in the pitch”.

Smart is the latest success for CREAM having secured contracts in the last six months from industry leading clients such as Cambodia Brewery Limited’s Tiger Beer and ABC Stout, Manulife Life Insurance and Unilever Cambodia.

Arnold added, “we’re very proud of what we’re achieving – the market is very receptive to us – and this win caps off an incredible first six months of business – and our 100% pitch success rate remains intact”
