Spikes Asia launches tech stream

Advertising festival Spikes Asia has announced a new stream focusing on technology.

The stream, called TechTalk, will consist of six sessions curated by tech firms to showcase their latest wares.

The announcement:

28 August 2013 – The Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, Asia Pacific’s premier festival and awards for the creative communications and advertising industry, taking place 15-17 September in Singapore, will launch TechTalk this year, a new stream of technology content presented by innovative tech companies from across APAC.

TechTalk, a collaboration between Spikes Asia and MediaLink, in partnership with Omnicom Media Group, including PHD and OMD, will present a total of six curated talks, two per day, during the festival, from leaders of APAC’s most forward-thinking digital media and marketing companies. Delegates will meet and hear from the people behind emerging technologies who will showcase their products to the creative and media communities providing awareness of new digital tools and fostering new ideas of innovative product marketing.

“With emerging companies either based in Asia or looking to Asia for expansion, TechTalk will play a key role in the programming line-up at Spikes. The fast-changing communications industry constantly embraces new forms of technology in its quest to produce more creative brand communications for its clients. TechTalk will provide this informative platform essential for business growth,” says Terry Savage, Chairman of Lions Festivals.

TechTalk, launched by Cannes Lions in collaboration with MediaLink in 2012 was again featured as part of the official programme this year presenting sessions on topics ranging from native advertising to content tech to a focus on screens and interactivity from companies such as Outbrain, Machinima, Maker, Vibrant, Shazam, PubMatic, Conde Nast Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Tremor Video, and the NY Post.

TechTalk at Spikes will continue this tradition with innovative solutions from companies like Trinax, which uses proprietary technology to address smart media and digital signage technologies, as well as Videology, an enterprise technology company that allows brands, agencies and media companies to plan and execute video ad campaigns using features and specifications typical to TV, while taking advantage of the advanced targeting, optimisation, and efficiencies of digital media. Amobee also adds to the line-up; a division of SingTel’s Digital L!fe Group; Amobee defines digital advertising and offers end-to-end mobile advertising solutions and services for advertisers, publishers and operators worldwide; it enables large customers to run targeted, leading edge mobile ad campaigns on a global scale with unparalleled ROI.

“Given the success at Cannes Lions, we are ‘taking the show on the road’ and expanding TechTalk to Spikes Asia, says Michael Kassan, CEO of MediaLink. Our partnership with Lions Festivals and now with Omnicom Media Group, enables us to further the mission of TechTalk. Marketing innovation and excellence are at the core of both of these organisations. Creating, and now expanding, TechTalk is an extension of MediaLink’s mission of partnering with world-class companies to help them ‘rise above the noise’.”

Cheuk Chiang, CEO of Omnicom Media Group, Asia Pacific, adds, “We are excited to be partnering with MediaLink to bring the best up and coming communications technology companies to Spikes Asia. Omnicom Media Group and its brands OMD, PHD and M2M have always believed in supporting new and innovative companies that bring fresh ways of working to our clients. Driving innovation has and will always be at the heart of what we do, so supporting these young companies is important to us.”

As well as presenting an unrivalled creative content platform, Spikes Asia offers outstanding learning, inspiration and networking opportunities and will culminate in the much anticipated Spikes Awards. Delegate registration is currently open and further details can be found on the website www.spikes.asia.
