Entries down for Spikes

Spikes AsiaThe number of entries for the region’s top advertising awards show has fallen for the first time.

Entries for Spikes Asia 2013 are down from 4,860 in 2012 to 4,832 in 2013, having risen every year since 2009 when there were 2,685 entries.

Most entries this year were from Australia (710), followed by China (679), Japan (622), Singapore (520), India (509) and Hong Kong (307).

Of the 16 categories this year, outdoor was the most popular (with 762 entries), followed by print (565), media (447), promotion and activation (385) and film (373).

The festival, which is jointly run by Cannes Lions and Haymarket, called for entries mid-May. The winners will be announced on Tuesday night.
