MEC China makes three appointments

Media agency MEC has announced three appointments to strengthen its China operation – Michelle Z. Sario as GM of MEC Shanghai, Baosheng Gao as head of analytics and insights and Kristin Lu as talent director.

In a move to further enhance the agency’s management and resources, MEC China (www.mecglobal.com) today announced three major appointments in its Shanghai office. Michelle Z. Sario joined as General Manager, MEC Shanghai, Baosheng Gao joined as Head of Analytics and Insights, China and Kristin Lu joined as Talent Director, China.

Michelle Z. Sario, at her new role of General Manager, Shanghai, will oversee key accounts such as Ikea, H&M and Paramount with a focus on new business development, reporting to Carey Loh, Managing Director, Shanghai.

Michelle has over 15 years of local media experience across China, Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia.  Prior to joining MEC, she was PHD’s Group Business Planning Director in Shanghai, overseeing Unilever’s Hair Care and Skin Care portfolio.  Michelle has solid experience across a wide range of clients such as Coca-Cola, Samsung, Heineken, Western Union, KFC, Bayer and Richemont.

Baosheng Gao , as Head of Analytics and Insights, China, will have a broad remit to further develop MEC’s strategic planning and analytic and insight offer across MEC’s three offices in China. He reports Thomas Nolsoee, Chief Strategy Officer for MEC across China.

Baosheng has more than 10 years’ experience in analytics and marketing research industry. Prior joining MEC, he worked for Accenture Management Consulting and Ipsos in China, where he headed the analytics teams. Baosheng has worked with clients such as P&G, Unilever and SAB-Miller.

Working closely with MEC China’s leadership team, Kristin will manage and develop talent with resources from GroupM China’s talent teams in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in order to contribute to the business success and growth of MEC in China.

Kristin has more than 10 years’ experience in HR field. Prior to Kristin’s career at MEC, she worked as HR head of OMD and Rolls-Royce in China. She’ll report to Christian Guinot, President, MEC and Michelle Wang, Group Human Resources Director, GroupM China.
