Vizeum appoints Kristian Barnes as APAC CEO, unveils new ‘Connections that count’ positioning

Aegis Media agency Vizeum has appointed Kristian Barnes as CEO, Asia Pacific.

Barnes will relocate from Australia where he was chief commercial officer for Aegis Media Australia and New Zealand to Singapore to fill the position.

He replaces Seth Grossman who remains with the company but has moved home to California, an Aegis spokeswoman told Mumbrella.

Grossman was in the APAC CEO role for just over a year and a half.

The announcement comes as the media agency rolls out a new positioning – ‘Connections that Count’ – across the region.

Kristian will take on the new role in January 2014 and be based in Singapore. This comes at the same time as the announcement of a new brand identity and positioning – Connections that Count – to be rolled out across Asia Pacific.

Kristian has over 20 years of experience in the industry and joins Vizeum APAC from his role within the group as Chief Commercial Officer for Aegis Media in Australia and New Zealand – a group with 29 businesses, 1,200+ staff and over 2,000 clients. Prior to that he led the Havas Media business in Australia and New Zealand for over six years as part of the Mitchell Communication Group. He also has strong entrepreneurial leadership skills, founding the YoungGuns Awards in 2000, and setting up Jumptank Australia in 2012, a business transformation agency that collaborates with companies to push innovative outcomes to solve problems.
