Fox creates new roles to drive sales and distribution in APAC and Middle East

Broadcaster Fox International Channels has made two senior appointments in syndication and sales with responsibility for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Helena Choe joins from sports rights marketing agency Sportfive International as VP of syndication, while Rahul Sood joins from Indian news network NTV as VP of affiliate sales and commercial.

Both are newly created roles.

Choe and Sood will report to Alex Lambeek, FIC’s EVP of affiliate partnerships and syndication for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Choe, who was MD of Sportfive’s Hong Kong office and will be based in Hong Kong, has a brief to drive the distribution of Fox’s sports, factual and entertainment content. The broadcaster launched FOX Sports in Asia at the beginning of this year.

Sood, who will be based in Singapore, joins with a focus to boost sales in newly emerging markets, and strike deals with hotels and out-of-home media. He will also drive international distribution beyond APAC and the Middle East of FIC’s suite of Chinese channels, which includes SCM, the network’s powerhouse Chinese movies channel.

“Both Helena and Rahul bring a great wealth of experience to FOX International Channels and we are very pleased to welcome them on board,” Lambeek. “Their appointments serve to demonstrate our commitment to work closely with our affiliate partners to further FIC’s presence across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.”
