Indonesian family beat boxes to the sound of the Chevrolet Spin

Ad agency McCann has launched a new campaign for Chevrolet Spin in Indonesia.

Created by McCann’s special Bangkok-based Chevvy unit Commonwealth, it is the first ad to be creative directed by Thierry Halbroth in his new role as the unit’s ECD. He moved from McCann Hong Kong to Thailand earlier this year.

The ad, titled ‘Beatbox’, features a family of Indonesians making the sounds of the Chevrolet Spin’s quiet engine.

A social media campaign with the hashtag #SpinSomeFun will run in support of the TV, which will run until January.

Halbroth said: “In a world where technology dominates, it was refreshing to go “old school” and use human voices alone to make all the noises of the car. The cast was fantastic and thanks to the coaching of professional beatboxers, they were able to deliver a solid performance for total amateurs, bringing the message of the commercial very much alive.”
