Turner appoints new sales leadership in Southeast Asia and Taiwan

Broadcaster Turner has announced new leadership for its sales teams in Southeast Asia and the Pacific as part of its plan to decentralise its sales operations in Asia.

Fourteen-year Turner veteran Nadia Hwang, executive director of entertainment ad sales, has been appointed executive director of sales for Thailand and Vietnam.

Hwang will continue to run pan-regional sales accounts for Turner’s entertainment and kids networks, but will now also oversee the network content distribution for all brands in Thailand and Vietnam.

New to the company is former Ogilvy & Mather and China Television System executive Tony Lin, who joins as director of sales for Taiwan.

Hwang and Lin will report to Robi Stanton, who moved from Australia to Singapore as VP of sales and marketing for Turner Southeast Asia Pacific in July.

Sunny Saha, SVP and MD of Turner Southeast Asia Pacific, said: “Both of these senior appointments reflect Turner’s new management strategy in the region. We are moving away from a centralized, regional hub approach and are stepping up our presence in individual markets to accelerate growth initiatives on a local level.”

Turner’s plan to decentralise its operations in Hong Kong led to a large-scale restructure of the regional team, which began in June this year.
