Two former staffers at ad agency BBH Singaore have launched their own company.

The start-up – called Pie – is a web-based platform for creative teams to share and discuss ideas.

The people behind it are the former head of creative technology at BBH Singapore Thijs Jacobs, and Pieter Walraven, the agency’s former product director. The duo are known for their work for Perfetti van Melle and Google.

“When at BBH, me and my co-founder Thijs Jacobs noticed that people are constantly sharing and discussing inspiring links over email,” said Walraven. “We loved the culture of sharing, but we saw that sharing links over email is completely broken. It clutters inboxes and relevant finds easily get buried.”

Pie“After talking to clients and partners about this issue we learned that they too have the same problem. This is when we decided to build Pie, a web application where you share and discuss interesting things you find on the web with your team.:

The company, which already has eight staff, has secured some investors, including the former ECD of BBH Asia Pacific Steve Elrick.

Walraven added: “Pie is built for modern teams and companies that believe in a workplace where information flows freely and everyone shares their ideas.”
