Google Australia sales director Jason Pellegrino moves to Asia Pacific strategy role

The Australia sales director of Google, Jason Pellegrino, has landed a regional role as head of strategy and operations for Google Asia Pacific.

He will lead the team responsible for the business strategies and commercial capabilities across all markets in the region, and has a seat on the Asia Pacific leadership team.

He will continue to be based in Sydney.

Pellegrino had been sales director for Australia, responsible for leading the teams in the lucrative auto, FMCG and technology categories for the search giant, as well as heading up the mobile ad strategy unit.

Pellegrino took temporary charge of the entire Australian operation when former MD Nick Leeder departed last March, before former Procter & Gamble marketer Maile Carnegie was handed the role permanently in August.

He has been with Google Australia for more than five years, and before that had stints at PepsiCo, LEK Consulting and Dakota Corporation.

He is succeeded by Bart Jenniches, who takes on the role of the head of consumer, auto and technology at Google in Australia.
