JWT launches ‘disco’ contest to attract Indonesian students

Are you our disco star? The Jakarta office of ad agency JWT is launching a competition to find new recruits from universities.

Called the JWT Disco – short for discovery – the contest challenges students to crack a brief to win a job at JWT Jakarta.

To apply, any student aged 18 to 24 who is registered at a university in Indonesia can apply, through JWTDisco.com, and each entry costs IDR 50,000 (US$4).

A board of judges, which includes agency CEO Lulut Asmoro and chief creative officer Ivan Hady Wibowo, will shortlist eight finalists. Each finalist will be required to make a final presentation to the judges, live, in JWT’s offices.

The registration period is from 14-28 February. The brief will be released on 1 March, and students have two days to answer it. On 8 March, the finalists will be announced and the winner revealed on 14 March.

On 14 February, students have been invited to meet JWT leaders at the agency’s offices to discuss the industry. The event will be streamed live via Google Hangout.

The launch of the JWT Disco comes a fortnight after the agency’s sibling media company GroupM launched a reality TV show pitch competition in China to bring young people into the business.
