Brandon Cheung to run Cathay Pacific Central Team team at McCann Hong Kong

Brandon CheungBrandon Cheung has been promoted to managing parter at McCann Hong Kong’s Central Team, which handles the Cathay Pacific account.

Cheung, who was previously digital strategy director, replaces long-serving Central Team boss Vince Viola, who has moved to a new business role with McCann’s Australian office.

Cheung teams up with executive creative director Martin Lever, who joined the agency last August.

Simon Large, general manager, marketing, loyalty programmes and CRM, Cathay Pacific Airways said: “The marketing strategy at Cathay Pacific has been shifting to a digitally led model. It is critical that our Agency partners have the depth of skills required across the digital disciplines to build our brand and drive sales efficiently and effectively. The McCann leadership team is in an extremely strong position in enabling us to make this transition.”

Charles Cadell, president of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific added: “As a 20-year partner to Cathay Pacific, the decision by McCann as to how we evolved the team post Vince was not taken lightly. As digital strategy director, Brandon has proven immediate success as a team leader and one that can navigate the complexities of today’s marketing landscape. Together with our clients, we agreed Brandon was the best choice to steer the future of a digitally led relationship. He brings the right balance of experiences across brand strategy, integrated planning, and creative solutions.”
