TBWA debuts Young Bloods talent initiative in China

Young BloodsAd agency network TBWA has introduced to China a talent programme first launched in the US by TBWA\Chiat\Day fourteen years ago.

Young Bloods, which is the brainchild of TBWA’s global creative director John Hunt, is to be led in China by the group creative director of TBWA\Shanghai Patrick Tom, who rolled out the initiative during his time in Vietnam.

Hunt said: “The programme is special because it’s not an internship. The idea is so bloody simple – we just drown the talent with creative opportunity to do real work. It’s the only way to inspire and nurture the best young talent available.”

The agency began the recruiting process at the end of last year to review potential candidates. To promote the programme, TBWA partnered with P.I.G. China to create an online film.

In the video, a competition winner named Jiang Wei becomes the most hated person in Shanghai.

The competition’s first winners were Jing Li, Xujia Niu and Guo Giang. The next round of submissions will begin in September.
