Unilab consolidates Cambodia media into Riverorchid

Unilab, the pharmaceuticals company, has consolidated its Cambodian media planning and buying into Riverorchid after a competitive pitch.

The Indochina specialist agency will now handle Unilab’s PHCare, Decolgen, Alaxan and Kremil S brands. The accounts were previously divided among three agencies, although Riverorchid handled PHCare.

Raymond Hilay, GM of Unilab Cambodia, said: “centralizing our planning and buying will bring notable efficiencies. We were impressed with Riverorchid’s media research which is now conducted in various forms across all 24 provinces of Cambodia, their TV Ratings capability, and their buying efficiency.”

Christer Horn af Åminne, who was appointed in November as Riverorchid’s first group media director, said: “Unilab have built a strong and growing presence in Cambodia and it is a privilege to be able to partner them towards further growth. And it is a great acknowledgement of the team’s work with consumer insight and setting the relevant media strategy for Unilab.”

The win is welcome news for Riverorchid, which parted ways with a number of Unilever creative assignments in Cambodia in December last year. Riverorchid had assumed control of Unilever’s brands from Ogilvy & Mather when the agency shut its Cambodian operation.
