The Media Shop, a boutique media planning and buying agency in Singapore, is launching offices in Australia and Indonesia.

The launches will come about a year after The Media Shop opened for business in Taiwan, and are scheduled to open by the second half of this year, the agency’s business director Jessica Toh told Mumbrella Asia.

“We plan to hire a country manager and media planner to run businesses in these markets for Australia and Indonesia respectively,” said Toh, who will oversee the management of both offices.

As part of its expansion plans, the agency has  hired Lee Chee Wee from Viacom International’s Nickelodeon channel – where he was a digital media producer – as head of digital.

Lee will work with Toh to boost the agency’s digital and social offerings.

Toh said in a press release: “We’re excited for Chee Wee to be part of the team at a time when we are looking to expand our footprint into Indonesia and Australia. Given his considerable experience in the digital space, more effective strategies can be devised to help our clients connect with their audiences digitally. He is well-positioned to lead and execute digital innovation which will maximize the return on investment for our clients.”

The Media Shop’s clients include CA Technologies, NETS, SanDisk, Royal Caribbean Cruises, OANDA, FireEye and Regus.

The agency was founded in 2009.
