Turner hires Marianne Lee from Universal to drive programming strategy in Asia

Marianne LeeTurner International Asia Pacific has hired Marianne Lee from Universal Networks International to drive its programming strategy.

Lee, who was Universal’s director of programming and acquisitions, will relocate from Singapore to Hong Kong to take on a new role as VP of content, general entertainment.

She joins Turner the week after the company announced a deal to handle WarnerTV’s operations in Asia.

Ricky Ow, Turner International Asia Pacific’s newly appointed president, said: “With WarnerTV now a Turner brand, Marianne arrives at a critical time to build on its existing number one ranking and to develop our entertainment brand bouquet even further. Under her leadership, we can look forward to Turner’s entertainment channels scaling greater heights of audience appeal and excitement, as well as more new offerings.”

Before joining Universal, Lee worked at Ow’s former employer Sony Pictures Television Networks as senior director of programming.
