Anita Yeong leaves OMD to head up Magna Global Singapore

Anita Yeong, the managing partner of OMD Singapore, has left the media agency to run the Singaporean operation of IPG Mediabrands’ buying unit Magna Global.

The position is a newly created role.

She joins with a brief to use the combined clout of the group’s media arsenal to “create power and leverage in the market, drive savings and efficiencies, and ultimately make smarter, more effective media investments,” according to the agency.

Pat Lim, MD of IPG Mediabrands, Singapore, to whom Yeong will report, said in a press release: “Anita’s primary focus is to maximise the productivity of media investments of our clients across all media through Magna Global’s strategic efficiency tools and negotiations. Having Anita and her wealth of experience across multiple facets of the media business, together with her deep understanding of client industries over the past 20 years makes her our best choice for this role. We are a stronger team now and excited to have Anita aboard.”

Yeong added: “Magna Global’s strong emphasis on intelligence-backed media investments and the rigor in delivering performance accountability to clients were the strong points that attracted me to take on this role. I look forward to driving efficiencies and extracting best value for our clients. I believe it is one of the most successful methods of reaping long-term gains and maintaining win-win partnerships.”

Yeong’s move comes amid rumours of a number of staff changes at OMD in Singapore.
