In a big move on Singapore ad scene, Ara Hampartsoumian has been appointed managing director of TBWA\Singapore, moving on from BBH where he was managing partner and regional business development director for eight years.

His move comes not long after Lou Dela Pena, TBWA\Singapore’s long-serving GM, moved to Publicis where she is now running the Singapore office as CEO.

Hampartsoumian will take on his new role at TBWA\Singapore on 21 July.

In a press release, TBWA’s Southeast Asia boss Philip Brett, said: “Our focus is on delivering world-class, innovative solutions for our clients and Ara’s experience is very unique. He has an outstanding record when it comes to new business development initiatives and over 13 years of experience with major local brands.”

He added: “We were looking for someone with exactly that breadth of skills across multiple categories, so we’re thrilled to have Ara on board with us to help us showcase the strength and uniqueness of the TBWA brand in the Singapore market.”

In Hampartsoumian’s career, he has worked at Fallon, now Publicis, as regional account manager based in Singapore. He also had a stint in the Bahamas as GM of local agency Thyme Group.
