Rupert England, the group ECD of FCB Kuala Lumpur, has left the agency.

England brings to an end just over a year with FCB, formerly DraftFCB, and is moving to Singapore to go freelance.

England ran a creative department of 40 staff in Malaysia, overseeing both traditional and digital. In his absence, regional ECD James Mok will work with the agency’s creative directors during the hunt for a replacement.

England returns to the citystate, where he previously worked as regional creative director for Lowe and as a freelance CD at TBWA.

He said: “I’m proud of what we achieved at FCB Kuala Lumpur. For the first time in a few years, the agency won several pitches. We also won awards at the Kancils, the local Malaysian show. The agency is well-positioned for success and I wish the team all the best.”

“In the end, it was more a personal decision than a professional one. After a year in Malaysia, I realised that Singapore is home,” he said.
