Lowe has lured a popular Indonesian creative working in McCann in New York back home to lead its creative department in Jakarta.

Roy Wisnu, who has spent the last six years working in the US, first at JWT and then at McCann, returns to Jakarta to take the group chief creative officer role at Lowe Indonesia.

Bandung-born Wisnu replaces Din Sumedi, who moved from Lowe to Ogilvy as ECD in March.

Wisnu last worked in Indonesia in 1995, when he was creative director at Ogilvy & Mather at the age of 28. He moved to Singapore in 2006, where he was a senior art director at Ogilvy.

Joseph Tan, CEO, Lowe Indonesia said: “We still can hardly believe we managed to convince Indonesia’s creative legend to come back and join us. We are simply elated!  Roy is highly revered in this part of the world and hailed as a local hero among creatives across the generations. Lowe Indonesia is a top player in the marketplace, and Roy’s inclusion allows us to raise the bar high for the best local talent, and world class work with our clients.”

Wisnu commented: “I see so many opportunities and a passion towards creative excellence in Indonesia (and surely, a lot of homework to be done). These things have called me home. I see this same potential and challenge at Lowe Indonesia, which is incredibly exciting. Lowe is a strong agency, and has all the components and passion to soar. I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to everyone there.”
