Porter Novelli wins Habitat for Humanity Singapore PR brief

PR agency Porter Novelli has announced winning a brief for Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual charity walk.

The announcement:

SINGAPORE, 28 May 2014 – Porter Novelli announced today that it has been selected as the official public relations partner for Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual charity walk, ‘Bare Your Sole 2014.’ Porter Novelli’s support includes grassroots community engagement, media relations and social media management to drive participation in this year’s event, and benefits Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s ‘Project HomeWorks.’

We’re honoured to partner with Habitat for Humanity Singapore this year, and we encourage everyone in Singapore to ‘Bare Your Sole’ on 12 July 2014,” said Jimmy Szczepanek, Managing Director of Porter Novelli Singapore.Porter Novelli was founded more than 40 years ago on the premise that we could apply the best practices of private sector marketing to achieve positive change on health and social issues. Therefore, we’re excited to help Habitat for Humanity Singapore make great strides in supplying those living in poverty with essential needs.”

‘Bare Your Sole 2014’ provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to go without shoes as a symbolic gesture of support for those living in poverty, and who must make their way through undesirable conditions – barefoot. Taking place at Gardens by the Bay on 12 July 2014, the barefoot walk will serve to unite Singaporeans in the fight against homelessness and poverty. Funds raised from this event will support ‘Project HomeWorks,’ which serves to improve the living conditions of the elderly, the sick and the physically-challenged living in one-room flats all over Singapore.

“We’re very excited about this year’s ‘Bare Your Sole’ charity walk and are grateful to all of our sponsors who are helping to raise awareness and funds for those in need of basic amenities, like clothing and shelter,” said Mr. Yong Teck Meng, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Singapore. “This marks our sixth year organising ‘Bare Your Sole,’ and this year we seek to acknowledge and honour the great support from corporations and individuals in Singapore over the last five years. Nothing would have been possible without their generosity.”
