Australian agency group STW has brought its Indonesian digital ad agency Alpha Salmon under the umbrella of digital network Edge Asia.

Alpha Salmon will retain its brand, but will now operate as part of the wider Edge Asia group. The move will give the agency access to Edge Asia’s digital training programme Edge Academy, which is to be introduced to Indonesia later this year.

Edge Asia was formed a year ago, and is positioned as the ‘first digital advertising network with an Asian soul’.

STW Group boss Michael Connaghan said the move “enables the technical depth and strength of the Alpha Salmon business to be retained and leveraged as a centre of excellence across the Edge Asia network, while providing Alpha Salmon staff and clients access to a to a broader range of business capabilities regionally.”

Meanwhile Alpha Salmon has a new boss. Fachry Badry has joined the company from McCann Indonesia filling the long-vacant managing director position. The former Y&R, Bates, Dentsu and Mindshare executive has worked with clients including Toyota, Honda, Citibank, Unilever, BAT, Nestle, GSK and Sony Ericsson.

Fachry reports into the group CEO of Edge Asia,  Patrick Looram.
