Bruce Matchett comes out of retirement to join Sapient Nitro as regional creative director
Creative veteran Bruce Matchett has re-emerged after leaving Saatchi & Saatchi to take on a regional creative director role at Sapient Nitro.
Matchett left Saatchi’s, where he was ECD for the Singapore and Malaysia offices, to retire in February.
He will lead creative for Sapient’s APAC offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Australia.
He will report to former colleague Andy Greenaway, Sapient Nitro’s regional chief creative officer. The agency confirmed that Greenaway would not be moving on, after Mumbrella asked whether two regional creative heads were needed.
Greenaway said: “We’re a company that builds Storyscapes for our clients, which requires a combination of brilliant technologists and eclectic storytellers. Bruce is one of the best storytellers I know. So it’s great to have him on board to help drive our creative vision.”
Matchett will be based in Sapient’s regional head office in Singapore.
And just like that sapient becomes the old saatchi and saatchi.
I wish creative heads would stop repeating the same old line about creating storyscapes and brand stories….its totally pretentious and no one really knows what it means.
Telling stories is easy, finding them is the really hard part where most people fail.
ReplyAgree with the above. Agency leaderships can’t talk the same circular reasoning about transformation whilst they act in the same manner, hiring the same people and playing the same play. In this day and age, client marketers are way too savvy for that BS.
